Nearly 160 students and chaperones from Newport Catholic attended the March for Life in Washington D.C., and two of those students may be eligible for a scholarship.
In 2015, the Schutzman Leadership Scholarship was established and endowed with a significant lead gift from Dr. Jerry Schutzman ’78. The fund has grown with several other donations and now provides tuition support for two students a year who live out the Pro-life cause. Recipients are typically students who annually attend the March for Life in D.C., and engage in various local Pro-life activity opportunities.
The Schutzman Leadership Scholarship is one of the many merit and needs based scholarships that have been made possible by those in the Newport Central Catholic community like Dr. Schutzman.
Currently, Newport Central Catholic offers over $75,000 in merit and needs based scholarships supporting over 35 students.
Additionally, $280,000 in tuition assistance is being provided by various programs to support nearly 115 of our students and 45 of our students have earned $30,000 in our workers’ aid programs.
