Gov. Bevin appoints three Northern Kentuckians to Boards, Commissions on emergencies, child care


Gov. Bevin has appointed three Northern Kentuckians to Kentucky Boards and Commissions:

Kentucky Emergency Response Commission 

• Henry Bertram, of Falmouth, is a former judge/executive of Pendleton County. He will represent local government.

• Steven Hensley, of Villa Hills, is director of Homeland Security Emergency Management for Kenton County Fiscal Court. He will represent technical expertise and serve for a term expiring April 17, 2020; and

The Kentucky Emergency Response Commission is charged with developing policies related to the response of state and local governments to releases of hazardous substances and developing standards of planning for these events. It also develops reporting requirements for those who manufacture, use, transfer or store these substances. The group provides information to the public concerning hazardous substances within the communities, develops training requirements and establishes requirements for local governments and covered facilities to exercise plans related to hazardous substance response.

Kentucky Child Care Advisory Council

Gov. Matt Bevin has appointed Sandra Lynn Woodall as a member of the Kentucky Child Care Advisory Council. She is an early childhood education specialist and currently serves as the team lead for 4C for Children. She will represent the private sector who are knowledgeable about education, health and development of children and serve for a term expiring June 24.

The Kentucky Child Care Advisory Council shall advise the Cabinet on matters affecting the operations, funding, and licensing of child-care centers and family child-care homes. The Council shall provide input and recommendations for ways to improve quality, access, and outcomes.
