High-scoring local players selected for senior all-star basketball games at Thomas More College

Four girls high school basketball players who scored more than 2,000 points during their varsity careers are among the Northern Kentucky contingent selected for the Ohio-Kentucky All-Star Games on Saturday at Thomas More College.

Campbell County guard Taylor Clos is one of the 2,000-point scorers on the Kentucky girls all-star roster.

The list of 2,000-point scorers on the Kentucky girls roster includes Anna Clephane of Scott, Taylor Clos of Campbell County, Lexi Held of Cooper and Ally Niece of Simon Kenton. The other local seniors selected are Shelby Harmeyer of Simon Kenton and Mackenzie Schwarber of Campbell County.

The local players on the Kentucky boys roster are Ethan Haynes of Boone County and Adam Kunkel of Cooper, who scored more than 1,700 points during his varsity career.

The girls all-star game will begin at 5:30 p.m. Saturday with the boys game set for 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices were not posted on the all-star game website. On Friday, players will participate in a Slam Jam Fest that’s free and open to the public. There will be one-on-one games, 3-point shooting contests and a slam dunk contest.

Clephane, Clos and Held were among the top 20 scorers in Kentucky girls high school basketball last season. One of their teammates in Saturday’s all-star game will be Mercer County senior Seygan Robins, who was named Miss Kentucky Basketball after leading her team to its second straight state title.

The Kentucky boys all-star roster includes Mr. Kentucky Basketball award-winner Trevon Faulkner, who is also a senior at Mercer County. He was recruited by Northern Kentucky University.

The Ohio all-star teams have several players from Cincinnati area high schools on the rosters. Two of the boys players are Jeremiah Davenport and Jaxson Hayes, who led Cincinnati Moeller to the Ohio Division I state title.

Tim Sullivan of Cooper will be one of the assistant coaches for the Kentucky boys all-star team. The girls coaching staff includes Beau Menefee of Campbell County and Jeff Stowers of Simon Kenton.

Here is a rundown of the Northern Kentucky players on the rosters for the Ohio-Kentucky All-Star Games with the colleges where they will continue their careers:
