Walton infant found unresposive in bathtub Sunday evening rescusitated, reportedly with no injuries

A Walton infant that was found unresponsive in a bathtub Sunday night was revived and reportedly suffered no injuries from the incident.

The Boone County Sheriff’s office issued the following statement regarding the incident:

On 12/30/2018, at approximately 9:00PM, Boone County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area of Old Stephenson Mill in Walton, Kentucky for a reported drowning of a one (1) year old, male child.

The child was temporarily left in the bathtub with his three (3) year old sibling as it was filling with water. The mother of the children went to transfer clothes from the washing machine to the dryer in another room. The child’s mother came back into the bathroom to reportedly find him face down, floating and unresponsive in the bathtub.

The child was removed from the bath tub and taken to a neighbor’s residence to dial 911 due to panic and to also request assistance. A neighbor provided CPR to the child until an ambulance could arrive on scene. The child was flown via Air Care to University Hospital in Cincinnati.

The incident was investigated and upon arriving at the hospital, detectives found that the child sustained no injuries from the incident. The child was transported to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for overnight observation but is expected to be released from the hospital within the next 24 hours.
