Secretary of State, Alison Lundergan Grimes reminds potential party candidates for Kentucky’s 2019 Constitutional Office races that Tuesday, Jan. 29th is the final day to file paperwork with the appropriate filing official.
Doors close at 4 p.m. local time.
Secretary Grimes will also be introducing her newborn son, Ford, who will accompany her as the youngest person ever to shut the door after the countdown at 4 p.m.
The Secretary of State’s online Becoming a Candidate portal allows potential candidates to use a streamlined web application to fill out much of the paperwork required to become a candidate.
At the end of the process, users may save and print a PDF of the required documents for filing with the appropriate filing official.
Kentucky law does not currently allow candidates to submit files electronically.
The 2019 ballot consists of the following offices:
• Governor/Lieutenant Governor
