SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 23

Race 1

ROGUE TOO was dropped into the claiming ranks in January and responded with two straight runaway scores. She is back in for the same tag tonight and looks like a solid bet to make it three in a row for James Chapman and Johnny McKee. RYANEAUX SPOT was a game maiden winner in her debut and flashed good speed last out against better. She figures to be the main competition. TSCHUDI’S GIRL moves up in class after winning and is a contender.

Race 2

GATEWAY ARCH faded a bit in the stretch last out after pressing the pace from between horses. He figures to lay right behind the early runners tonight and gets the nod in a well matched race. RED HOT WARRIOR comes off two solid efforts and figures to be tough again in here. MONEY TALKER is a 10-year-old veteran who still runs well.

Race 3

ACES AND EIGHTS had trouble leaving the gate last out and faltered badly after moving up to press the pace. A return to his best form would make him a winner in a weak maiden claimer. MIREUON drops to the bottom and could wake up at this level. PRAY FOR KITTEN rates a chance.

Race 4

AMERIBELLE is a lightly raced 4-year-old who moves up in class after a maiden win. She has the tactical speed to be in contention throughout and gets in light with Tormey. She could spring the mild upset in here. SHE MIGHT TELL comes off a solid effort but the 1-for-22 record is a reason for concern. SISTAS READY is a definite threat.

Race 5

BREAK THE DEAL is a consistent runner who has been in the money in nine of his last 10 races. He drops back to the bottom tonight and rates the edge for Larry Smith with Ouzts back up. TWINKLING KNIGHT ran well in his first race back after a long layoff but ran poorly when favored last out. He will be tough in his third start back after that layoff. RYMAN rates a chance.

Race 6

CURLIN COED has been off since September but has been training well and posted a bullet work February 7. She drops in for a tag for the first time and rates the edge with Lezcano picking up the mount. FASHIONABLYAWESOME comes off an even longer layoff but also shows some decent works and has to be considered. ALREADY GONE gets blinkers and could improve.

Race 7

LESIA JANE was a game winner last out and moves up a notch in class after being claimed by Tom Drury. She can make it two in a row despite the class hike with Malcolm Franklin picking up the mount. ETHYL ETHER just missed last out after setting the pace and figures to be tough to catch again tonight. KITTEN’S SLEW will be running at the end and is a solid threat.

Race 8

LINK TO DESTINY and SPUNKY KITTEN form a tough entry for Ken and Sarah Ramsey. Both of them faded after showing some speed last out but can be expected to improve off those efforts. SUPER CLEAR drops in class and looks like the one to beat. COLEAQUILUS fits in here.
