U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, 77, is recovering at home in Louisville after suffering a fractured shoulder in a fall when he tripped on his outdoor patio Sunday morning, according to a statement from his office.

He was treated and released after getting medical attention. The statement said the Senator is working from home and will continue to do so for now.

The statement did not elaborate on the treatment or the expected length of recovery.

McConnell was in Kentucky after the Senate left for a five-week recess. On Saturday he attended the Fancy Farm Picnic, Kentucky’s premier political event.

He was due to make an appearance in Northern Kentucky Monday but will not make it.
