Dixie Heights and Cooper rolled to victories in Class 5A football district seeding games on Thursday to remain tied for second place in the six-team standings with matching 2-1 records.
Cooper defeated Scott, 49-7, in a game played with a running clock through out the second half. Dixie Heights took a 28-7 lead over Conner in the first half and came away with a 42-15 victory.

Dixie Heights junior quarterback Armani Gregg had four rushing touchdowns and threw for another in one of his best performances of the season. In seven games, Gregg has provided 12 rushing and 13 passing touchdowns for the 3-4 Colonels, who are averaging 34.2 points per game.
In other district seeding games on Thursday, Lloyd (7-0) remained undefeated with a 40-6 win over Pendleton County in Class 3A and Holmes (0-8) remained winless with a 35-8 loss to Grant County in Class 4A.
Lloyd has a week to prepare for its home game against district rival Lexington Catholic (2-4) next Friday. In this week’s statewide media poll, LexCath was No. 2 and Lloyd was No. 4 in Class 3A.
Two Class 1A district seeding games on Friday will renew long-standing local rivalries. Bellevue will visit Dayton for the 150th game in their series and Newport will take on Newport Central Catholic at Covington Catholic.
NewCath (2-4) is looking to break a four-game losing streak. Newport (4-2) needs a win to continue its quest for the program’s first winning season since 2019.
