BE NKY Growth Partnership to offer board, supporters insight on workforce, careers


Preparing the next generation of employees for successful participation in the workforce begins when they enter kindergarten and continues throughout their high school experience.
BE NKY is focused on the importance of providing students of all ages the chance for exposure, exploration, and engagement with a multitude of career opportunities.

Its board and supporters will Learn how Bowling Green is preparing its students for the workforce through the SCK LAUNCH (South Central Kentucky Learning About Unique New Careers Here) program from Meredith Rozanski, Executive Vice President of Operations, Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce, and hear from Cheye Calvo, the new President and CEO of EducateNKY, on an update on the organization’s progress and next steps after the release of the EducateNKY Landscape Assessment Report in May 2024.


The joint Board of Directors meeting and Q4 Economic Development Briefing will take place Wednesday, Nov. 14 4-3:30 p.m. at the Drees Pavilion in Covington.

Cheye Calvo is the new president and CEO of EducateNKY, a local nonprofit committed to a Northern Kentucky education ecosystem that ignites every eager, vibrant mind and improves outcomes for all children and their families.

Cheye began his career in county government in his native Prince George’s County, Md, as chief of staff to a county councilwoman. He worked for multiple state organizations, most notably the National Conference of State Legislature (NCSL) where he served as a policy expert and directed federal affairs on a diverse array of issues. Following his state service, Calvo served on the leadership teams of two educational nonprofit organizations, The SEED Foundation, where he partnered with communities across the country – including in Cincinnati – to explore innovative educational options, and Rocketship Public Schools, where he led external impact and strategic growth. From 2004 to 2015, Cheye was the elected mayor of the town of Berwyn Heights, Md., just outside of Washington, D.C. He earned his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in History from the University of Wyoming. Cheye has just relocated his family to Northern Kentucky from San Jose, California.

Meredith Rozanski, CPA is the Executive Vice President of Operations of the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce, a combined five-star accredited chamber of commerce and regional economic development entity.

In her current role, Meredith is responsible for the operational and financial activities of the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce, Inc.; the Bowling Green Area Chamber Foundation, Inc.; the Bowling Green Area Economic Development Authority, Inc.; the Inter-Modal Transportation Authority, Inc.; the South Central Kentucky Regional Development Authority, Inc.; the South Central Kentucky Business PAC; and the South Central Kentucky Training Consortium, Inc.
