CovCath’s 50-point district romp at Harrison County sets up Class 4A battle of unbeatens next week

Covington Catholic’s Colonels traveled to Cynthiana for a Class 4A district game against Harrison County’s Thorobreds Friday and returned with a 50-point win, 56-6, to improve to 6-2 (2-0 in the district). CovCath led by 49-0 at halftime enabling the Colonels to rest their starters the rest of the way.

Seven different CovCath players scored with Dylan Gaiser and Logan Sanning each scoring two touchdowns with from six and 75 yards and Sanning’s from the three on a run and from the seven on a pass from quarterback Cash Harney, who also scored on a 41-yard keeper.

CovCath completes its district schedule Friday with a showdown home game against a 7-1 Mason County team that, like CovCath, is an unbeaten 2-0 in the district. Mason County defeated Grant County, 35-6, Thursday.
