Just in time for Spring, ArtsWave is joining Rust-Oleum and artist collective Often Seen Rarely Spoken to unveil Pineapple on Pizza, a new outdoor mural at The Gruff in Covington.
The installation is part of Rust-Oleum’s “Spray It Forward” mural program, a national initiative that creates murals across the country.
The ribbon-cutting festivities will be Thursday at 10 a.m. and will offer the opportunity for the mural’s creators and Covington business leaders to celebrate the place-making project ahead of Spring — complete with goats!

Taking part in the program will be:
• Rachael Parker, director of Northern Kentucky creative placemaking, ArtsWave
• Julie Kirkpatrick, president and CEO, meetNKY
• Max Thomas, artist, OSRS
• Vivika Panagiotakakos, director, PR And corporate communications, Rust-Oleum
• Kristin Steuber, owner, The Gruff
and, of course,
• Goats from The Party Animals
The project represents a milestone in ArtsWave’s growing commitment to creative placemaking in Northern Kentucky, aimed at strengthening neighborhood identity and fostering connection through public art.
And, who knows, CLIVE the friendly Alien will likdly be watching from his famous post in downtown Covington.
Rust-Oleum’s “Spray It Forward” program supports murals that spark creativity, cultural storytelling and neighborhood pride. Public art pieces have already been created in Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, North Carolina and Wisconsin.
