Kentucky Nonprofit Network has opened registration for Kentucky Gives Day 2026, the Commonwealth’s annual 24-hour online fundraising event designed to mobilize generosity and strengthen nonprofit organizations statewide.
Now in its 14th year, #KYGives26 will take place on Tuesday, May 12, encouraging Kentuckians to support the missions and causes that make their communities stronger.
KNN is encouraging nonprofit organizations across Kentucky to register for the event as soon as possible to take full advantage of training opportunities, promotional resources, and donor engagement tools leading up to the statewide day of giving.
Beginning at midnight on May 12 and continuing through 11:59 p.m., donors will visit kygives.org.to discover participating nonprofits, learn about their impact, and make charitable contributions in real time. Eligible organizations must hold charitable 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, complying with Kentucky charitable solicitation law, and operate within Kentucky; they may register through April 22 at kygives.org.
New this year, Kentucky Gives Day will offer its first ever 1:1 match opportunity, giving nonprofits a chance to increase the impact of donations made during designated match periods. These sponsored matches double the overall prize pool, giving organizations even more resources to meet growing community needs and address the increasing challenges they face across the commonwealth.
Participation in Kentucky Gives Day is a free benefit for KNN member organizations, though advance registration remains required. Nonprofits who are not yet KNN members may participate by joining KNN or paying an event registration fee.
Since launching in 2013, Kentucky Gives Day has generated more than $6.7 million for participating nonprofits. During the 2025 campaign alone, 277 organizations collectively raised more than $896,000, demonstrating the growing impact of coordinated statewide philanthropy.
Although donations will be accepted from May 1 through May 13, prize competitions and bonus incentives will take place exclusively on Kentucky Gives Day, May 12, offering participating nonprofits opportunities to earn additional funding. Organizations are also encouraged to leverage matching gifts and supporter-driven fundraising campaigns to expand their reach.
Additional information, registration details, and training resources are available at kygives.org.
