Bryan Carlisle joins Corporex board of directors
Corporex, a privately held investment firm headquartered in Covington that focuses on investing in real estate, hospitality, sports and fitness, and capital markets, has appointed Bryan Carlisle to its Board of Directors.

For most of his career, Carlisle has served as an officer and, most recently Chief Executive Officer, of Maxim Crane Works LP, a more than $1 billion national-crane rental enterprise with about 3,500 employees, making it the largest crane rental provider in the world.
Carlisle is also an owner in Carlisle Bray Marine Services, a rapidly expanding river logistics provider servicing a wide variety of industries located along the Ohio River, such as power plants, fleeting areas and river terminals.
“We are enthusiastic about having Bryan become engaged in what we refer to as the ‘Corporex of the Future,’” said Bill Butler, Chairman of Corporex. “He brings a swell of energy to the team along with a world of experience in business acumen, people management and motivation and a knack for building strong, strategic relationships that will greatly benefit our organization.”
In addition to Corporex, Carlisle is an active Board Member of Maxim Crane Works, Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, Carlisle Bray Marine, and the American Cancer Society. He joins current Corporex board members Paul W. Chellgren, John L. Simon, Robert B. Sathe, Martin C. Butler and Douglas J. Fahoury.
Florence Rotary honors Billy Santos of Truist

Billy Santos, vice president and commercial banker at Truist (formerly BB&T) was recognized by the Florence Rotary Club for honoring its ‘Service Above Self’ motto.
Santos was born in Santiago, Dominican Republic, moving to his mother’s homeplace after graduating from high school. He graduated from Northern Kentucky University and met his wife, Erica, there. They have three children and live in his grandmother’s family home in Park Hills.
He joined Florence Rotary Club in 2007 and ultimately served as its president and as treasurer for the Florence Rotary Foundation. He chaperoned two Interact service trips to the Dominican Republic.
He is also active in the American Heart Association, NKY Chamber, Esperanza Latino Center and Junior Achievement.
BBB names board chair, new board members
Cincinnati Better Business Bureau has announced Jamie Smith is its new board chair and the addition of two new board members.

Smith has 30 years experience in newspaper advertising, helping companies find ways to build and improve their brand, and retain their current market share. He oversees all operations of the Business Courier.
“I am very proud to chair the board of directors for the Better Business Bureau Cincinnati. I have been involved with the BBB for over 20 years and have been able to see how this organization is so vital to the future of our region. I have served on the board for the last 10 year and see the difference the BBB can make. Businesses small and large value the services and programs that the BBB offer, ranging from reviews to the coveted Torch Awards for Ethics,” said Smith.
Two new board members are Jim Collins, area president, FocusCFO, and Jim Hedrick, vice president, Oswald Companies.
Honored by Chamber with Community Award

The NKY Chamber Community Award was presented to Paul Hemmer Jr. of Hemmer Construction in recognition of its positive difference in the community. Since 1921, Hemmer has served as a premier provider of construction services in the medical, distribution, manufacturing, office, retail, and institutional markets in cities throughout Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Michigan, Illinois and more.
The family business, headquartered in Northern Kentucky, was started by John M. Hemmer (one of the first 50 registered architects in Kentucky) and is now run by his grandson, Paul Hemmer, Jr.
“For 100 years Hemmer Construction has served our community with integrity and quality of service,” said Brent Cooper, NKY Chamber President and CEO. “Their family legacy continues today with Hemmer not only serving as a prominent commercial construction company, but also by continually reinvesting in its employees and into the community with its values and commitment to upholding the family name.”
Papa John’s Foundation awards grant
Regional Youth Leadership, a program of the NKY Chamber, was awarded a $30,000 grant from the Papa John’s Foundation for support of its work to bolster youth activities in the region.
Renaissance Covington’s MORTAR Covington program and NKU’s JumpStart program will share in the grant as the organizations collaborate on entrepreneurial programming for RYL students.
Erigo Employer Solutions COO/CHRO
Erigo Employer Solutions, which provides human resources solutions to business owners and entrepreneurs, has named Karen Pawsat as its new COO and Chief Human Resources Officer.
Pawsat brings nearly 20 years of human resources experience to her new role. An alumna of the University of Cincinnati, she previously served as Vice President for Messer Construction and with United Health Care and Humana.
