Obituary For Ancel H Baxley

Ancel H. Baxley, 74, of Walton, a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, at Saint Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, Kentucky, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on January 15, 1951, in Harlan, Kentucky, Ancel's life was marked by his unwavering dedication and commitment to those he loved. He enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a plumber, a profession he devoted many years of service to, earning the respect of his colleagues and the gratitude of those whose homes he helped build and repair.

Ancel was a dedicated family man. He is survived by his cherished wife, Katherine E. Baker Baxley, who stood by his side through all of life’s moments. Together, they raised three children: Tony Baxley (Tammy), Scott Baxley (Jennifer), and Stacey Browne (Jeff); ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his dear sister, Ann Smith (Wayne). Ancel took great pride in his family and was known for his wise words and thoughtful guidance, nurturing bonds that will last beyond his years.

In addition to his family, Ancel had a true passion for his dog, Uma, reflecting his caring nature and love for companionship. He was also a valued member of the First Baptist Church of Covington, where his faith and kindness touched the lives of many.

Ancel was preceded in death by his parents, Charles H. Baxley and Frances Brock Baxley, and his beloved son, James Baxley. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at Floral Hills Funeral Home - Chapel A, located at 5336 Old Taylor Mill Road, Taylor Mill, KY. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will be held at the same location from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM with Pastor Karl Davenport officiating.

Ancel H. Baxley will be remembered for his loving spirit, unwavering dedication to his family, and the joyful moments shared with those he held dear. His legacy will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all who were fortunate to know him.
