Obituary For Anna Marie Zapp
Anna Marie Zapp, 96, of Florence, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Emerald Trace in Elsmere, Kentucky, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 20, 1927, in Covington, Kentucky, to Ward and Viola Caldwell. Ann married her high school sweetheart Bob Zapp in June of 1950. They remained married for 63 years until Bob’s passing in 2013. Ann worked as the school secretary at Florence Elementary School for many years until retiring in 1991. She and her husband, Bob, founded the Grant County Concrete Company which, upon retirement, they sold to their son, Bill. Ann was a lifelong member of Florence Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was also active in Florence Women’s Club (past president). She and Bob enjoyed spending winters in Venice, Florida, where they had a great social life. Ann is survived by her 3 children, Robert Zapp (Nancy), Gale Tesseneer (Herb), Bill Zapp (Angie); 5 grandchildren, Brad Zapp (Kathleen), Ben Zapp (Elizabeth), Lauren Head (Andrew), Meagan Roberts (Nick), Austin Zapp; also, 10 great grand children and her sister-in-law, Margie Stephenson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ward and Viola Caldwell and her husband, Bob. Ann’s strength was her faith in God and love of family. She had a positive attitude in life and always had a kind word and smile for those she came in to contact with. She will be sorely missed. Visitation for Ann will be on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at Stith Funeral Home, 7500 U.S. Hwy 42, Florence, Kentucky 41042. She will be laid to rest Williamstown Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hope House or Florence Baptist Church.
