Obituary For Barb Eastwood
Barbara Jo Eastwood, age 79, passed away, Saturday, October 18, 2025. After months of health battles, she is now resting at peace.
Barb served many years for the Environmental Protection Agency. For years she offered her talents as a secretary and before retiring, she was a security manager. She enjoyed wildlife. Artwork of deer, black bears, and birds adorned her living space. She and her husband, Sam, spent years on their beautiful farm in Morning View, KY raising cows, filling bird feeders, putting corn out for the deer, and even keeping the farm cats (skunks and raccoons too) well fed. She loved cats the most. Her family teased about how spoiled the cats were with their own condo in her garage set with a tv and a buffet that would put Sams Club to shame.
In her later years, Barb enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She took them on frequent trips to the movies and local swim clubs. Barb and Sam enjoyed many cruises together, eating and drinking.
Her final years were spent gaining friendships in a new community. As a widow, she discovered herself in a light that was all her own. Barb spent time with her neighbors at StoryPoint Senior Living gathering for activities and happy hour. Many hours were shared socializing together over strawberry wine (or Coke).
Barb is survived by her children; Laura (Chris) Bross and Matt Rausenberg, her younger brother; Joseph (Melissa) Krach, grandchildren; Emily (Cory) Lynch, Matthew (Maggie) Bross, and Madeline Bross, great-grandchildren; Matthew and Charlotte Stratton, Liam and Reagan Lynch, step-children, nephews, cousins, and her community of friends.
There will be a private service for family and her close friends on Thursday, October 23rd. If you wish to leave a donation to a cause close to Barb, visit the Humane Society of Northern Kentucky or the Child Victim Fund.
