Obituary For Bonnie Joyce Kennelly
Bonnie Joyce Kennelly (nee Bresnauer), 82, of Cold Spring, KY, passed away on June 22, 2023 at Carmel Manor Nursing Home, Fort Thomas, KY.
She worked for many years as a medical office secretary in various medical offices and hospitals in Fargo, North Dakota. Bonnie was also an incredibly gifted writer and poet. Upon her return to northern Kentucky Bonnie found an opportunity to grow and nurture her writing abilities as well as her desire for education through the Donovan Fellowship for Older Adults program at Northern Kentucky University. The program gave Bonnie the opportunity to take a wide variety of classes at the university, and she also went on several study abroad trips with her fellow classmates, a majority of whom were in their early twenties. For those who knew Bonnie, though, her ability to bond with the younger generation would not come as a surprise as she always maintained a young and vivacious spirit. In addition to her love for writing, she held a special place in her heart for her basset hounds, Audrey, Roy, and Gus. She also became a member at the Issac M. Wise Temple after she discovered her Jewish roots. She made her Bat Mitzvah in 2017. Bonnie made sure to squeeze every bit out of life that she could, and she will be remembered as an outgoing and loving sister, aunt, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Timothy Kennelly, father, Walter Paul Bresnauer, mother, Margaret Bresnauer (nee. Clark), sisters, Colleen Walz and Virginia Wulf. Bonnie is survived by her sister, Judi Klinkenberg, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by dear friends Judy, Natalie, and Mavis. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials are suggested to the Ohio Basset Hound Rescue, https://www.ohiobassetrescue.org/info/donate.
