Obituary For Bonnie Lou Fryburger

Bonnie Lou (Robinson) Fryburger, a resident of Wilder, Kentucky, and a beloved daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 11, 2023, at UC Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, at age 80. The cause of death was complications arising from a pulmonary embolism.

Bonnie was born on September 27, 1942, in Erlanger, Kentucky, and was the devoted daughter of Paul Franklin Robinson and Dorothy Lillian (Rosenstiel) Robinson of Florence, Kentucky. She grew up in Florence with her brother, James Ronald Robinson, and her sister, Pamela Jo (Robinson) Porter. Bonnie was an outstanding student who attended Florence Elementary School and was a recognized cheerleader who graduated with honors from Boone County High School in 1960. She subsequently started her career at Procter & Gamble, where she met the love of her life, Don Elmer Fryburger of Cincinnati, Ohio, who she married at Florence Baptist Church in 1962.

Bonnie gave birth to three children, son Todd Curtis Fryburger, daughter Tracy Allison Fryburger, and son Christopher Allen Fryburger. She raised her family in the Hyde Park suburb of Cincinnati, where she served as an active volunteer supporting a variety of causes, including Kilgour Elementary School, the Junior League of Cincinnati, the Cincinnati Art Museum, and the Cincinnati Park Board. Bonnie later became a successful realtor, working for the Oscar Bauman Co. and Comey & Shepherd Realtors. She was a lifelong fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Cincinnati Bengals, and was an original season ticket holder for many years after the franchise joined the American Football League in 1968.

The Fryburger family moved to St. Joseph, Michigan in 1978, where Bonnie continued to support civic causes and pursue her interests in real estate. The family later moved to Peosta, Iowa in 1981, where she worked for the Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce for ten years. Bonnie played an integral behind-the-scenes role in the production of Field of Dreams when it was filmed in Iowa and actually appeared in the final scene of the movie. She later worked for the Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa in Galena, Illinois.

Bonnie moved back to Cincinnati in 1998. She lived in Walnut Hills and served as Membership Director for the Cincinnati Art Museum, where she led patron tours to art exhibitions in Ireland, China, New York, Las Vegas, and Orlando. She moved to Wilder following her retirement in 2008, where she enjoyed spending her time with a rich tapestry of friends and family throughout Greater Cincinnati. Her neighbors came to recognize her as the "Mayor of Aspen Pines" due to her outgoing nature and kindness to others, especially dogs who regularly visited her porch, seeking a reward from her treat jar.

Bonnie was preceded in death by husband Don Elmer Fryburger, father Paul Franklin Robinson, mother Dorothy Lillian (Rosenstiel) Robinson, father-in-law Lawrence William Fryburger, mother-in-law Norma Clare (Hunsicker) Fryburger, brother-in-law Lawrence Bruce Fryburger, and sister-in-law Ann Elizabeth (Plankey) Fryburger.

She is survived by her three children, son Todd Curtis Fryburger and his wife Janet Leigh (Clark) Fryburger of Atlanta, Georgia, daughter Tracy Allison Fryburger of Finneytown, and son Christopher Allen Fryburger and his wife Megan McNees (Evans) Fryburger of Mt. Lookout. Surviving siblings include brother James Ronald Robinson and his wife Pamela Kay (Lusby) Robinson of Florence, and sister Pamela Jo (Robinson) Porter and her husband Ronald Robert Porter of Union, Kentucky. Bonnie had four grandchildren, Jackson Clark Fryburger and Kathryn "Katie" Todd Fryburger of Atlanta, and Marley Elizabeth Fryburger and Holly Ann Fryburger of Mt. Lookout. Other survivors include nephew Troy Allen Robinson and his wife Wendi Ann (Sharp) Robinson of Florence, niece Paula Kay (Robinson) Warren and her husband Larry Vincent Warren of Florence, niece Brenna Maureen (Porter) Aschermann and her husband Erik Michel Aschermann of Union, nephew Zachary Hilton Porter and his wife Molly Marie (Robinson) Porter of Tampa, Florida, nephew-in-law Craig William Fryburger and his wife Heidi Crystal (Anderson) Fryburger of Dundee, New York, and nephew-in-law Lawrence Kent Fryburger and his wife Katheen Virginia (McBride) Fryburger of Fredericksburg, Texas.

Bonnie was cremated by Linnemann Funeral Homes in Erlanger, Kentucky. Her ashes will be interred with her parents Paul Franklin Robinson and Dorothy Lillian (Rosenstiel) Robinson in a private family ceremony to be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Erlanger at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 6, 2023. A Celebration of Life that is open to family and friends will be held at the Aschermann residence located at 8824 Richmond Road in Union from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Friday, October 6, 2023.
