Carolyn Ruth Moser (aka Tennessee & C.R.), 84, a devoted partner, loving mother, grandmother and friend of Ft. Mitchell, KY passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. C.R., also known by her Cherokee name, Cenan Deshana Tanya Rose Silverheels, began her journey on April 11, 1941. Her life was characterized by boundless love, tireless dedication to her family, and a spirit that touched all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Warner & Iona Moser (nee. Coker) and daughter, Sheila Sue Moser. Carolyn is survived by her partner, Carol Goss (nee. Hauser); step-daughters, Lori (Ted) Bishop and Lynne Goss (Mike Collins) & Leslie Goss; step-son, Melvin (Amy) Goss, 6 step-grandchildren, Mike (Rachelle) Routzon, Shelby Bishop, Nathan Bishop, Lauren Brown, Megan (Devin) Roenker and Madeline (Dylan) Ward, 6 step-great-grandchildren, Bryson Brown, Emery Ward, Makenna Roenker, Brynn Guenther, Aubrie Guenther and Brody Pinto and 11 foster children: 6 boys & 5 girls.

A Life Dedicated to Service

C.R. 's spirit of giving was cultivated early by her foster parents’ generosity and flourished throughout her life. Her spirit of giving was most famously on display through her unique and heartfelt public service. She was a regular, much-anticipated visitor at the local Children’s Hospital, where she spread cheer by transforming herself into beloved figures, including Santa Claus, Clowns and the Easter Bunny. During these visits, she never arrived empty-handed, always bringing gifts and a bright smile to lift the spirits of the young patients.

Her compassion extended far beyond the hospital walls. C.R. frequently visited low-income areas, where she would open the trunk of her car—affectionately known as the "magic trunk"—filled with stuffed animals and other gifts, passing them out to children and lighting up their day with a spontaneous act of kindness. She also channeled her energy into organizing and performing in local variety shows to raise money and collect food for the Cincinnati Freestore, a tireless effort fueled by her commitment to local families.

Professional Excellence and Community Leadership

For many years, C.R. dedicated her professional life to General Electric (GE), where she was a highly valued employee. Her tenure at GE was marked by an exceptional level of commitment not only to her professional duties but also to the spirit of public service. This profound commitment did not go unnoticed by her peers and the company's leadership. As a testament to her dedication and impactful contributions to the community and the company, C.R. was the proud and well-deserved recipient of the prestigious Gerald L. Phillippe Award, one of the highest honors bestowed by General Electric. This award recognized her outstanding efforts and embodied the respect and admiration she earned throughout her distinguished career.

She used her position and strong reputation at GE to organize significant charitable initiatives, rallying her colleagues to contribute substantial amounts of food, clothing, and money. Her passion was infectious, and her co-workers were always eager to help, motivated by the positive impact they saw her making in the community. As her friends well knew, C.R. consistently prioritized others, spending any extra money she had on a struggling individual or a child.

Family and Foundational Values

C.R. credited her deep-rooted altruism and generosity to the values instilled in her by her own foster parents. Following their powerful example, she opened her own heart and home to children in need, raising a remarkable 11 foster children over the years. Her capacity for unconditional love was truly limitless.

She taught everyone who knew her that the greatest treasures in life are the moments we share and the help we extend to others. She will be deeply missed by her foster children, her family, her friends, and the countless members of the community whose lives she enriched.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in C.R.'s memory to the Santa Maria House in Ohio, an organization dedicated to helping those in need—a cause C.R. championed throughout her life. Donations can be made at www.santamaria-cincy.org
