Obituary For Charles Aloysius, Jr. Krift
Charles Aloysius Krift Jr., age 60, of Alexandria, KY, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 25, 2026. He was the son of Charles and Charlotte (Wagner) Krift, who preceded him in death.
Charles is survived by his devoted wife, Diana; his children, Thera (Brandon) Simpson and Charlie (Taylor) Krift III; and his cherished grandchildren, Peyton and Riley Simpson and Boone Krift, who were the greatest joy of his life. He is also survived by his four sisters, Cheryl Krift, Carla Depperschmidt, Celeste (Greg) Lamping, and Cindy (Dennis) Minter; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will deeply miss him.
Charles proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He continued a life of service through his work as a volunteer member with the Alexandria Fire Department and his involvement with numerous community and civic organizations, including the Can-Tucs Primitive Weapons Club, Campbell County Knothole, VFW Post 3205, Campbell County Agricultural Society, the 4-H community, and the Cattlemen’s Association. He also faithfully served at Plum Creek Christian Church.
A 1983 graduate of Bishop Brossart High School, Charles was a lifelong University of Kentucky Wildcats fan. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and farming.
Charles owned and operated Krift and Schnitzler Construction before continuing his career with the Campbell County Fiscal Court Maintenance Department and later at the University of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
Above all else, Charles was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His love for his grandchildren knew no bounds, and his steady presence, generosity, and strength will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will held be at Plum Creek Christian Church on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 3:00PM to 6:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Plum Creek Christian Church (961 Nagel Road, Butler, KY 41006) or to St. Elizabeth Foundation (1 Medical Village Dr., Edgewood, KY 41017).
