Chester William Carpenter of Union, KY passed away on December 12, 2023.

Chester was born on October 6, 1943, son of the late William Henry and Elsie Maude Carpenter. He is survived by his loving wife of 4 years, Inez Widener Carpenter; children Keith Carpenter (Barbara), Kevin Carpenter, Craig Carpenter (Stacy), and Elaine Haegele (Grant); grandchildren, David, William, Lucas, Maya, Holly, and Tyler; and his sisters, Debbie Callahan and Cathy Alford. He was preceded in death by first wife, Joan Carpenter, sister, Brenda Carpenter, and brother, Charles Carpenter.

Chester was a graduate of Boone County High School class of 1961 and the University of Kentucky where he earned a bachelor's degree in Industrial Administration. For most of his professional career, Chester held positions as an Industrial Engineer with Xtek Inc. and General Electric Aviation, but he was later a proprietor of a restaurant and owned and operated a roofing company. He was a longtime member of the Squires Auto Club, as well as a dedicated hobbyist with interests in photography, horses, tools, among many other things. He was a longstanding member of Faith Church in Erlanger, KY.

Prior to graduating from university, Chester married Joan, with whom he shared 48 years, 4 children, and 6 grandchildren until her passing in 2013. Chester later found love a second time and married Inez in 2019.
He was much loved by his immediate and extended family, as well as long-time friends, and will be sorely missed.

Visitation will take place on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 4 – 7 p.m. at Stith Funeral Home, 7500 US Hwy 42, Florence, KY 41042. A funeral service will follow on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at noon at First Baptist Church, 47 South Main Street, Walton, KY 41094 with burial to follow at Floral Hills Memorial Garden, 5336 Old Taylor Mill Rd, Covington, KY 41015. A luncheon will be provided at First Baptist Church Walton following the interment.
