Obituary For David Cobb

David Cobb, affectionately known as "Delta Dave," passed away on December 9, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on November 14, 1946, in Maysville, Kentucky, David lived a life full of joy and purpose.

A dedicated Customer Service Agent at Delta Airlines, David took great pride in his career, which enabled him to meet numerous notable figures, including Presidents and celebrated athletes. His work was more than just a job; it was an opportunity to connect with people from all walks of life and to share moments of mutual respect and admiration.

David was a vibrant personality, always the life of the party. He embraced life to the fullest, radiating warmth and generosity. Known for giving the shirt off his back to anyone in need, he particularly enjoyed making children smile. His infectious spirit drew everyone around him, creating lasting memories and friendships.

He cherished the companionship of his retired Delta friends, lovingly referred to as "The Deltoids," frequently enjoying breakfast and lunch gatherings that only deepened their bond. Traveling with his beloved wife, Patricia "Patty" Cobb, was a highlight of his life, providing them countless adventures and cherished experiences together.

In addition to his career, David had a strong passion for sports. He loved attending major sporting events, including NBA Championships, World Series, and Super Bowls, sharing these exhilarating moments with family and friends.

David's legacy will be carried on by his devoted family, including his wife of 33 years, Patty; his sons, Michael Cobb of Covington, Matt (Nicole) Cobb of Hebron, Alex Volpenhein of Edgewood; and grandchildren, Landin, Karsyn, Natalie, Trevor Cobb and Colton Volpenhein, as well as the cherished memories left behind by his late parents, George Cobb and Wanda Fizer, and his siblings, Mike Fizer, Phill Fizer, and Ellie McCarty.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 4:00 PM until the hour of Mass of Christian Burial at 6:00 PM all in St. Pius X Church, 348 Dudley Road, Edgewood, Kentucky.

David Cobb will be remembered for his kind heart, zest for life, and the profound impact he made on those fortunate to know him. His spirit will live on through his family, friends, and the countless smiles he brought to others.
