Obituary For Deborah Jean Cook
Deborah “Debbie” Jean (Sutton) Cook, 67, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, surrounded by those she loved, following a courageous 20-year battle with cancer. Debbie was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late John and Jean Sutton.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years, Rick Cook; her loving daughters, Danielle Kuertz (Nick) and Brittany Toebben (Jacob); and her cherished grandchildren, Claire, Charlie, Chase, and Callie Kuertz, and Kinsley, Owen, and Zoey Toebben. She is also survived by her dear sisters, Joy Addison (Curt) and Shelia Sutton, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a multitude of friends who will miss her dearly.
Debbie enjoyed a long and dedicated career with Duke Energy and was a faithful member of First Church of Christ for nearly 45 years. To Debbie, family was everything. She treasured time spent with her daughters and found her greatest joy in her grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life. She also loved vacationing with her husband, daughters, and grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Debbie leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, devotion, and strength that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Stith Funeral Home, 7500 U.S. Highway 42, Florence, Kentucky 41042, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Dan Flora and his staff at St. Elizabeth for the compassionate and exceptional care Debbie received throughout the years. In honor of Dr. Flora’s dedication, memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Foundation, Cancer Research, 1 Medical Village Drive, Edgewood, Kentucky 41017.
