Obituary For Delmar L. Drake

Florence – Delmar L. Drake, 93 years of age, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023. He was born in Harmon, Oklahoma, to his late parents, Leslie Allen Drake and Vera Leone Simmons Drake. Delmar was married twice to two wonderful women, Shirley Drake and Angie Drake, both of whom preceded him in death. Delmar is survived by his children, James Drake (Connie), Carol Isch (John), and Blenda Drake; his stepchildren, Deanna Vann, Sharon Hughes, and Kimberly Frances; his grandchildren, Andy Drake (Mariam), Beth Drake, April Neander (Jeremy); and his great-granddaughter, Sylvie Drake. Delmar served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Florence Christian Church, a former Boy Scout leader for Troop 1, enjoyed leather working, being outdoors, and thought of himself as a true Oklahoma Cowboy. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023 at Florence Christian Church, 300 Main Street, Florence, Kentucky 41042 at 12:00 p.m. Stith Funeral Home is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Florence Christian Church at the above address. Online condolences and memories may be left for the family at www.stithfuneralhomes.com.
