Obituary For Earl Richard Kemplin
Earl Richard Kemplin, 86, of Cold Spring, passed away on December 11, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. Earl was a retired electrician who worked for Newport Steel and Interlake Steel.
He was a proud member of the Fort Thomas Masonic Lodge #808 F&AM.
Earl enjoyed golfing, dancing, bowling, singing karaoke, and watching sports, he was an enthusiastic University of Kentucky sports fan. He especially treasured the time he and his wife spent relaxing at their condo in Bradenton, Florida.
Born on July 8, 1939, in Dayton, Kentucky, Earl was the son of Charles Richard and Edith (Troescher) Kemplin. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Rick Kemplin and brother, Charles Robert Kemplin.
Earl is survived by his loving wife, Pat Kemplin; his daughter, Vicki Plantholt; grandchildren, Keith Plantholt, Kyle (Jenn) Plantholt, Eric Plantholt, Rick Kemplin, David Kemplin; great-granddaughter, Maddie Plantholt; his sister, Flo
(Corby) McGill; and his brother, Lonnie (Laura) Kemplin.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Dobbling Funeral Home, 106 South Fort Thomas Avenue, Fort Thomas. A funeral ceremony will follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at St. Stephen Cemetery in Fort Thomas, Kentucky.
