Obituary For Elizabeth Ann Robson
Elizabeth Ann Robson (nee Ristow) 77 passed from this life to the next on December 28, 2025 in her home in Newport, KY.
She had been under the care of Hospice of the Bluegrass with the support of Visiting Angels for some months
Elizabeth earned a B.A. in History from U.W.-LaCrosse (1970) and graduate degrees from U.W.-Madison (1984) and University of Virginia (1986). Her education enabled a career in librarianship across a spectrum of venues, most notably in prison libraries with both legal and recreational collections.
Her passion was the written and spoken word whether for pleasure (think Bradbury and Asimov), discussing (book clubs), editing (hundreds of dissertations and theses), and on occasion the grammar of others.
Her life since her youngest days was marked by a keen interest in dogs - whatever the age, breed, or behavior.
Wherever she lived the work of the church found her volunteering, mostly earnestly in teaching Sunday school and youth sport outings. Her patience enabled tutoring young children whether in Newport schools or those of friends
She was born April 21, 1948 in La Crosse, Wisconsin to Herbert Herman Ristow and Helen Elizabeth (nee Bailey) Ristow. She was the youngest of their children having been preceded in death by her brothers, Paul Joseph and David Herbert.
Elizabeth is survived by her devoted husband of 49 years, Pastor John Robson, she was the loving mother of Victoria Elizabeth Mary Robson (Michael Chelius) and grandmother of Natalie Kristine “Nat” Chelius.
Visitation will begin at 10:00am with Services beginning at 11:00am on Saturday, January 3rd, at St. Johns UCC, 415 Park Street, Newport, Ky 41071
