Obituary For Herbert S. Vaske

Herbert "Herb" S. Vaske, 83, of Fort Thomas, KY, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026.

Herb was a man of family, faith and community. He was a member of St. Thomas Parish, volunteering at church events. He was also a Kentucky Colonel and a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, always working the Tootsie Roll Drives and Christmas parties benefiting local charities. He cherished time spent with the grandchildren with adventures to the Louisville Slugger Museum and state parks. Herb was known as a man of resilience, which was especially demonstrated during his time at the Seasons of Alexandria, where he was loved by all, being voted Prom King last May.

Herb was born November 28, 1942 in Lockland, OH to Harry Vaske and Marcella (nee: Bolte) Vaske. He was preceded in death by his parents, step son, Stan Cunningham, sister, Carol (Fred) Barnewall, brother, Kenneth (Dixie) Vaske, and granddaughter, Donna Taylor.

Herb is survived by his wife, Dorothy (nee: Hummel) Vaske, daughter, Donna (James) Taylor, step daughters, Donna Mullen, Peggy (Dave) Kremer, Suzanne (Patrick) Smith, step daughter-in-law, Pam Robinson, thirteen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren, brothers, Henry Vaske, Bernie (Eve) Vaske, Ray Vaske, sisters, Ruth (Ron) Wilson, Ceil (Don) Bramley, Ann (Julio Figuero) Vaske, and Noreen (Scott) Seiter.

Visitation will be 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, Friday, February 6, 2026 at St. Thomas Church, Fort Thomas. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 pm, Friday, February 6, 2026, at the church, with Rev. Richard Bolte, officiating. Burial will take place in the St. Stephen Cemetery Fort Thomas, Kentucky.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Thomas Church, 26 E. Villa Place, Fort Thomas, KY 41075.
