Obituary For Jean Ann Johnson

Jean Ann (Greis) Johnson, age 85, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, at Carmel Manor in Ft. Thomas, Ky. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Jean lived a life marked by grace, kindness, and quiet strength.

Born on July 7, 1940, in Melbourne, Ky, Jean brought warmth and joy to everyone she met. She was known for her strong work ethic, helpful nature, and friendly demeanor—qualities that defined her both personally and professionally. For over 35 years, she served her community through her work at Walgreens, where she was cherished by coworkers and customers alike for her reliability, compassion, and ever-present smile.

A devout Catholic, Jean found deep spiritual fulfillment through her faith and she found spiritual nourishment attending services at St. Philip, St. Anthony, and Sacred Heart parishes. Her commitment to her church communities was evident in her presence, her prayers, and her quiet acts of service.

For 63 years, Jean shared a marriage with Basil (Jay) Johnson Jr. Together they raised four children: Kimberly Marcum, Linda Bruns (Tom), Richard Johnson (Amy) and Angela Gaston (Jeremy). Jean's legacy continues through her nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren with another one on the way.

Jean is survived by sisters: Mary Ann Barbian and Ruth Schalk, and brother Robert Greis (Cheryl).

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, September 5th, 2025 at Floral Hills in Taylor Mill, Ky. Visitation at 10:00 am, Service at 11:00 followed by burial and reception.

Her memory will live on in the stories we tell, the recipes we pass down, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
