Obituary For Jerry Martin, Jr.

Jerry Martin, Jr., a proud United States Army veteran, devoted family man, and respected airline professional, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025, at the age of 89.

Jerry served honorably in the United States Army from 1954 to 1957 with the 3rd Armored Division, 67th Field Artillery Battalion, in West Germany before becoming a tank driver. His military service remained a source of lifelong pride and shaped his strong sense of duty, discipline, and commitment to others.

Following his honorable discharge, Jerry built a distinguished 34-year career in the airline industry, ascending through the ranks and ultimately retiring from Northwest Airlines in 1992, managing the CVG operations.
In recognition of his character, service, and contributions, Jerry was honored as a Kentucky Colonel, the Commonwealth’s highest civilian honor.

After retirement, Jerry continued to enjoy an active life and remained connected to the outdoors. From 1995 to 2020, he worked as a Starter and Ranger at Lassing Pointe in Boone County, Kentucky, a role he greatly enjoyed. Along with golf, Jerry loved hunting, gardening, and competing in kennel club shows and hunts.
Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jane, and is survived by his children, Brian Martin (April) of Dry Ridge and Beth Roberts (Troy) of Cincinnati; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. at Stith Funeral Home, 7500 US Hwy 42, Florence, KY 41042. Burial will follow at 1 PM at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, Williamstown, KY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Hospice of Cincinnati, if desired.
He will be remembered for his quiet strength, integrity, and steady presence.
