Obituaries

Joyce M. Thomas, 81, of Fort Thomas, passed away on June 11, 2023. Joyce was born and raised in Newport, Kentucky. She married her true love, Lowell, in 1964 and together they raised a family. Joyce worked for many devoted years at Trinity Baptist Church before working at Newport Fourth Street Elementary where she later retired from. She was an excellent cake decorator, decorating cakes for friends, family, and neighbors. She was also a great hostess, inviting friends and family into her home and always making sure they were fed. She also made sure her birds in the yard were well fed. Joyce was a devout member of Trinity Baptist Church and later Living Hope Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school from 1969-1999. Joyce also enjoyed crocheting and puzzles.

She was preceded in death by Husband, Lowell Thomas, Father, Truman Mullins, Mother, Edna Mullins, Brother, Tim Mullins (Janet). Joyce is survived by her Daughter, Bonnie (John) Bloomfield, Son, Bob (Meredith) Thomas, Granddaughters, Becky & Kelly, Sister, Brenda (Stan) Thomas, Niece and Nephew, Terri & Larry, Sister-in-Law, Janet Mullins (Tim), along with other nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Living Hope Baptist Church, 1080 Highland Ave. Fort Thomas, KY. Funeral Ceremony will be held 11:00 am Thursday, June 15, 2023, at the Living Hope Baptist Church, Fort Thomas, Kentucky. Burial will take place in the St. Stephen Cemetery Fort Thomas, Kentucky.
