Obituary For Margaret Morrissey
Margaret E Morrissey (nee Wyder) 86, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully among friends at the St Augustine Home for the Aged of the Little Sisters of the Poor in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the loving wife of Michael C Morrissey, who preceded her in death on January 3, 2010, and daughter of Louis G Wyder and Mary (Cain) Wyder.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Lou Green; brother, William Wyder; brother-in-law, Ralph Green; niece, Pam Gasparec; nephew, Kermit H Neitzel, and great nephew, Ben Wyder.
Survived by her siblings, Richard Wyder, Ann K. (Wyder) Lee and Sister-in-law, Eileen Wyder. Margaret had many nieces and nephews including Jeff Wyder, Sam Wyder and Hannah Wyder, Steve Gasparec, Jenny Gasparec, Lori Gasparec and Lisa Gasparec, Gary and Cathy Wyder, Erin and Bill Hazelwood, Andy, Kristin, and Avery Wyder, Steve and Terri Wyder, Mike Wyder, Karen Wyder, Virginia Neitzel, Alexander l Neitzel (Zander), Mary Neitzel and Kylin Wesbrock. For many of these relatives and friends she served as godmother.
She was a dedicated teacher and administrator working at Beechwood high school in Northern Kentucky from 1970-1982 and at Dixie and Kenton high schools from 1982-2000 retiring as Principal of Dixie Heights High School in 2000. During this time, she earned a bachelor’s at Thomas Moore College (Villa Madonna), a master’s degree at the University of Cincinnati and a PhD at Xavier University. After retirement she worked at Delta Airlines from 2000-2010 and at Residence Inn by Marriott from 2010 to 2012.
Visitation will be on Monday, September 8, 2025, from 10:00AM until the hour of Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00PM all in St. Anthony Church, 485 Grand Ave., Taylor Mill, KY.
Interment will be on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, in St. Joseph Cemetery, 8th & Pedretti Aves., Cincinnati, OH.
Memorials are suggested to the Little Sisters of the Poor St Augustine Home for the Aged, 2345 W 86th St., Indianapolis IN 46260.
