Obituary For Marlene Ruth Evans
Marlene Ruth (nee: Deinlein), Evans, 88, of Fort Thomas, passed away peacefully at her home on January 21, 2026, surrounded by her family. Marlene was born June 12, 1937 to Jacob and Irma (nee: Schwaller) Deinlein.
Marlene devoted many years to teaching, a reflection of her generous and caring spirit. That same compassion filled her home, where family was always her greatest priority.
Marlene graduated from Highlands High School. She earned her Bachelor, Masters and Rank 1 in education from Northern Kentucky University. She taught at Silver Grove Elementary her first year, then taught at Ruth Moyer Elementary for the next 33 years. She loved teaching so much and never thought of it as work.
She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was beautiful, caring, selfless and giving to her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by father, Jacob Deinlein, mother, Irma Deinlein, and brother, Ronald Deinlein. Marlene is survived by her daughters, Susan (Mike) Redmond and Debbie (Bob) Day, grandchildren; Luke Redmond, Rachel (Jarred) Stahlhut, Cullen Redmond, Jacob (Kassie) Day, Maggie (Christian) Manns, Annie (Josh) Croston, great-grandchildren, Kalli, Caleb, Paxton, Gwen, Greyson, Lee, Noah, Iris, Easton, Scarlett, and Jay.
Visitation will be held 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Dobbling Funeral Home, 106 S. Fort Thomas Ave., Fort Thomas, KY 41075. Service will be held 2:30 pm at the Highland United Methodist Church, 314 N Ft Thomas Ave, Fort Thomas, KY 41075.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Ft. Thomas Education Foundation (ftef.org), 2504 Memorial Parkway, PO Box 75090, Ft. Thomas, KY 41075.
