Obituary For Martha Lew Glatthaar
Martha Lew Glatthaar (nee: Pierce), 93, of Ft. Thomas, KY passed away on September 13, 2025.
She was born in 1932 in Cincinnati, Ohio to C. Lewis Pierce and Martha Bird Pierce. Martha Lew was predeceased by her loving husband of 68 years, Thomas, as well as her brothers, J. Richard Pierce (Charleen, dec.) and Massey Lew Pierce. She was also preceded in death by her sister-in-law Joan Stoner (Vincent, dec.), brothers-in-law Jim Glatthaar (Gail, dec.) and Donald Glatthaar.
She is survived by her sisters-in-law Kitty (Don, dec.), Gelaine (Jim, dec.), Janice Glatthaar and Sally Pierce Luebbe.
Martha is also survived by her five daughters, Sandy (Kevin) Rolf, Cindy (Harvey, dec.) Heckman, Pam (Kelly) Read, Angie (Greg) Smorey and Amy (Jeff) Sloan. She was blessed with 14 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren.
Martha Lew graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University where she was a proud member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She went on to teach at Highlands High School in Ft. Thomas and afterward dedicated her life to raising her family. Martha was an active member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Ft. Thomas where she was past president of the Episcopal Church Women and Altar Guild.
As a former Girl Scout Leader and substitute teacher, she shared her talents with inspiration and encouragement. A lifelong avid reader, she also found pleasure in swimming at the local YMCA where she developed lasting friendships.
Devoted to God and family, Martha Lew also touched many lives by her kindness and compassion. Her strong faith was a testimony to the Christian values she upheld all throughout her life.
Visitation at Dobbling Funeral Home, 106 South Ft. Thomas Ave., Fort Thomas, KY 41075, on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 9:45 am to 10:45 am. Funeral Ceremony will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, September 18, 2025, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 3 Chalfonte Place, Fort Thomas, KY 41075, with Rev. Jeff Queen, officiating. Committal Service will take place at 2:00 pm at Spring Grove Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 3 Chalfonte Place, Fort Thomas, KY 41075 or a charity of the donor's choice.
