Obituary For Mary Kay Vonderschmidt

Mary Kay “Kay” Vonderschmidt (Nee Butcher), age 66, of Burlington passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Hospice of St. Elizabeth. Kay was born on May 26, 1958 to Gene and Ruth Butcher. She attended Villa Madonna Academy in Villa Hills and went on to earn graduate degrees in Public Administration and Emergency Management, including a Doctorate of Science in Emergency Management from Jacksonville State University. Kay served the community as a Paramedic and later Emergency Manager for over 45 years. Known as a mentor to many, she imparted her knowledge and wisdom to countless others. Kay is survived by her children Drew Vonderschmidt and Kati Vonderschmidt, and her siblings Steve Butcher (Cindy), Laura Davies (Reese), and Rob Butcher (Sharon Kay). She is also survived by her much loved cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. By her wishes, services will not be held.
