Obituary For Matthew Steven Wehry
Matthew “Matt” Steven Wehry, 59, of Erlanger, KY, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 4, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood. Born on June 2, 1965, Matt dedicated his life to his family, friends, and his work.
After 39 years of service as a maintenance specialist at St. Charles Community, Matt retired, leaving behind a legacy of expertise in systems management, electrical work, and technology. He was the go-to person for EVERYTHING, with a knack for fixing anything that needed repair, earning him a reputation as someone you could always rely on.
Matt’s family meant the world to him, especially his grandson, who lovingly called him “Pop.”
In his free time, Matt enjoyed his hobbies, including recently picking up the guitar, and he was an avid sports fan. He never missed a game of the UK Wildcats, Cincinnati Bengals, or Cincinnati Reds, always cheering them on with unwavering passion.
The 4th of July was Matt’s favorite holiday, a day he eagerly anticipated all year long. For Matt, the 4th of July wasn’t just a celebration; it was a chance to share his love for fireworks and create lasting memories for everyone around him putting on a HUGE display every year for family, friends and the neighborhood that he couldn’t have pulled off without his lil’ buddy and firework assistant, Vinny Ballard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Sharon Wehry, Sr.; brother, Joseph Wehry, Jr.; and sister, Jaye Wehry Bunting.
Matt is survived by his fiancé who was his soulmate, Shirley Stull; children: Kimberlee Stull (Ethan Searcy), Kaylee Stull (Wyatt Parker) and Seth Stull (Chloe Timbobolan); grandson, Zander Steven “Boogie” Stull and his father, Joe Semrad; mother-in-law, Kimberly Stull; sister-in-law, Geri Wehry; nieces: Angella (Davin) Hould, Maria (Jack) Kelley and Jenna Stull (Christian Chandler); nephew, Kayson Stull; great nieces and nephew: Kallie, Finn and Maggie Hould.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the time of funeral service, 12:00 PM, at Linnemann Funeral Homes, 30 Commonwealth Ave., Erlanger, KY 41018.
