Obituary For Paul David, Sr. Schulte
Paul David “Dave” passed into eternal life on February 1, 2026 fortified by the Sacraments of the Church and in the presence of his family.
Born on October 13, 1943, Paul David was the son of Ralph and Rosemary {Childers} Schulte, and the brother of Denis Schulte. On May 25, 1963 he married the love of his life, Judith {Toebbe}, to whom he was married for over 62 years.
Together Dave and Judy raised six children: Janet (Joe) Sparks, Amy (James) Tonges, Paul David, Jr. (Jolinda), John (Rhonda), Eric (Lisa), and Dana (Eric) Snyder. He took great pride in his 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, delighting in their accomplishments and staying lovingly engaged in every chapter of their lives.
Dave proudly and faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corps in the early years of the Vietnam conflict.
Dave had a lifelong passion for vehicles of every kind, leading him to such adventures as riding his motorcycle to the summit of Mount Fuji and sailing his boat around the coast of Florida. He proudly held his U.S. Coast Guard credentials as a Merchant Marine Captain, and was affectionately known by family and friends as “Captain Dave.”
A man of many talents, Dave was the successful owner and operator of a computer systems company for more than two decades.
Above all, Dave cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, with whom he created countless treasured memories. Known for his rich and unique sense of humor, he had a special gift for bringing laughter and light to every gathering. He was deeply loved and greatly respected by his family and will be profoundly missed.
A Mass of Requiem will be offered on Thursday, February 5 at 10:00 am at All Saints Church in Walton, Kentucky. Dave’s grandson, Reverend Benjamin Schulte, C.O., will preside. After Mass a luncheon will be served. Interment will take place at Mother of God Cemetery in Covington, Kentucky.
