Obituaries

Paul Joseph Kolkmeier, 82, of Independence, passed away on February 11, 2026 at Rosedale Green. He was born in Cincinnati, OH to the late Herman and Alma (nee Roll) Kolkmeier in 1943.

Paul was raised in Fort Thomas, Kentucky and graduated from Newport Catholic High School. Paul was a chemical sales rep with US Chemical, he truly loved his work and mentored many young men in their careers. He also loved being surrounded by his loud family, boating on Lake Erie, a loyal dog at his feet, rocking his grandbabies and a good practical joke. Paul had a big generous heart and gave quietly even when giving was hard.

Paul met Jane, the love of his life, in Newport in 1961. They were married for 61 years and raised 5 children. Paul and his wife are members of St. Barbara Church and in his retirement, loved playing cards with his dear friends at his favorite diner in Walton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, James Kolkmeier, Lawrence Kolkmeier, sisters, Sr. Ruth Marie and Mary Kay Sarge and grandson, Samuel.

Paul is survived by his loving wife, Jane Sue (nee Groneck) Kolkmeier, son, Paul J. Kolkmeier, Jr., daughters, Carol (Jeff) Stowe, Kim (Jeff) Gelofsack, Maggie (Brian) Webb, Krista (Joe Yates) Kolkmeier, brother, Raymond (Sue) Kolkmeier, 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Monday, February 16, 2026 at St. Barbara Church, Erlanger. Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00 pm. Entombment will take place in the St. Mary Cemetery Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky.
