Obituary For Robert Scott Riddle
Robert “Scott” Riddle, 62 years, of Dayton, KY, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.
Scott was born in 1963 in Ft. Thomas, KY, the son of Chester R. Riddle and Carolyn L. Riddle, nee Shelton. He was a 1981 graduate of Dayton High School and a retiree of the University of Cincinnati, IT Systems Management. Scott played football, basketball, and ran track while at Dayton.
Throughout his life he was a huge enthusiast of all sports, but especially loved following FC Cincinnati, his beloved Bearcats
and Dayton Green Devils. If you needed to know something about any team or any sport, he was your go-to. His knowledge of sports was only matched by his knowledge of all 70’s rock bands.
He attended countless concerts and was a grateful survivor of the Who concert tragedy of December 3, 1979. It’s very ironic that he passed on the anniversary of this concert.
Scott was loved and will be remembered by us all for his fun, joyful spirit. Always positive and supportive of his family. We are all feeling the tremendous loss.
Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn, and his faithful dog/companion, Sydney.
He is survived by his daughter, Madeline R. Riddle, his father, Chester; sister, Karen Campoamor; nephew, John (Laura) Campoamor; niece, Jessica (Travis) Walton; great nieces and nephews, Jordan, Carson and Corinne Campoamor, Kensley, Barrett and Josie Walton; uncle, David (Barbara) Shelton; and cousins, Adam (Kathy Krebs) Shelton and Rachel Shelton.
A graveside service will be planned for a later date at Flour Creek Cemetery, Butler, Kentucky.
Memorial Contributions in memory of Scott may be made to Dayton Highschool Athletics a 200 Greendevil Lane Dayton, KY 41074, or to Campbell County Animal Shelter at 1989 Poplar Ridge Rd Melbourne, KY 41059.
