Obituary For Sherrie Lou Noel
On Wednesday, November 8, 2023, Sherrie Lou Noel, loving wife, sister, and “HEAD AUNT” passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 80. Sherrie Lou was born on February 6, 1943, in Phoenix, Arizona. She graduated from Boone County High School in 1961. Sherrie Lou attended Eastern Kentucky University earning a bachelor’s degree in general studies before embarking on a career as a medical technologist and becoming heavily involved in volunteer and philanthropic projects. Eastern Kentucky University had always been near and dear to the hearts of Sherrie Lou and Ron, her late husband. The couple contributed to the formation of the Noel Studio for Academic Creativity and the Noel Reading Porch at the EKU Library and provided funding for the Noel Research Endowment. They had a deep love and generosity for family and the Northern Kentucky community. Dirven by Sherrie’s love of animals and their lead charitable gift, they made possible the building of the new Ron & Sherrie Lou Noel Boone County Animal Shelter. Sherrie Lou was a very giving and compassionate person and was very active in the community. She was a member of Florence Christian Church, Florence Woman's Club, the Boone County Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, Boone County Jaycettes, the Maplewood Guild and volunteered at the Maplewood Home. She served on the Boone Conservancy. In 2000 Sherrie Lou was bestowed an Enquirer Women of the Year award, recognized for her excellence in Greater Cincinnati and making our community a better place to live and work. She was full of life with such a positive and youthful spirit. She was always a Cheerleader for the many causes she was passionate about. She loved spending time with family and friends at her home in Amelia Island Florida. She taught us all how to live with kindness, with purpose, with peace and a pure heart. Sherrie Lou is preceded in death by her Parents Sam Denham Jr. and Bernice Leedham Denham and her husband Ronald R. Noel and brother ‘Bud’ Denham. Sherrie Lou is survived by her sister Barbara Ann Crume (the late Dr. Ron Crume Sr.); several Nieces and Nephews, as well as Great-Nieces and Great Nephews. The family would like to thank Christy Vaughn for her untiring effort and for providing such care and comfort to Sherrie Lou in recent years; and a special thank you to Revered Dr. Susan Diamond for her prayers and consolation. Visitation will take place on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Florence Christian Church, 300 Main St., Florence, KY 41042, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Stith Funeral Home, Florence, is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sherrie Lou’s name to:
