Penn Station’s new location in Union
Penn Station East Coast Subs, the fast-casual sandwich franchise known for its craveable variety of made-to-order hot and cold subs, fresh-cut fries, and fresh-squeezed lemonade, has a new location in Northern Kentucky. Conveniently located at 9124 US-42 in Union, the new store is across the street from Kroger in a busy retail corridor.

Owned and operated by franchisees Keith Gavin, Andrew Brennan and Lachlan McLean under Quaker Hospitality Holdings, the new restaurant brings Penn Station’s signature customizable subs and award-winning fries to a busy, high-traffic location. In preparation for the grand opening, the franchise owners trained their team by having them prepare menu items and deliver them to local schools and police departments, giving employees hands-on experience while also building community connections.
“We want to be the go-to spot when people in Union want a great meal for every member of the family to enjoy right in their own neighborhood,” said owner Keith Gavin. “Penn Station stands out because of the quality of the food and the experience we provide. Everything is made fresh and right in front of the customer. Even with other restaurant competition nearby, we’re confident this location will build a loyal following and become a place the community can rely on for great food and service.”
This location also reflects Gavin’s decades of experience in the restaurant industry. Marking his 24th Penn Station restaurant, he began his career at 16-years old with a summer job flipping burgers and worked his way up through every level of restaurant operations. Today, Gavin oversees multiple locations and is known for his hands-on leadership, attention to detail, and dedication to developing strong teams.
“The focus on people, both the team and customers is the secret to Keith and Andrew’s success with the brand,” said Craig Dunaway, COO of Penn Station East Coast Subs. “We’re excited to continue expanding the Penn Station name into Union where this team is dedicated to delivering exceptional food and service. Plus, they know how to create a restaurant that truly connects with the local community and provides a welcoming experience for everyone who walks through the door.”
The Union team plans to give back through initiatives such as dine-and-donate events, local partnerships, and community programs that support area organizations.
The Union location is open Monday-Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m.- 9 p.m.
