One of Northern Kentucky’s most anticipated summer traditions will return to Newport Festival Park from June 11-14, as Newport Italianfest takes kicks off four days of Italian food, live entertainment and family-friendly activities to the riverfront.
Located along Riverboat Row between the Purple People Bridge and the Taylor-Southgate Bridge, Italianfest attracts more than 120,000 visitors annually. The four-day festival celebrates the region’s rich Italian heritage while showcasing Newport as a destination for community events, entertainment and tourism. The festival features authentic Italian cuisine, live music throughout the weekend, cultural exhibits, family activities and vendors from across the region.
“Italianfest has become a signature event for Newport and a cherished family tradition that generations have enjoyed together for more than three decades,” said Newport Mayor Tom Guidugli Jr. “It’s a celebration of family, community, and the values that bring us together. Grandparents, parents, and children gather to create lasting memories while honoring the rich Italian heritage that helped shape our city.”
Festival will run from 5-11 p.m. Thursday and Friday, noon to 11 p.m. Saturday, and noon-9 p.m. Sunday.
Admission is free.
Attendees can enjoy a variety of Italian dishes, live entertainment, children’s activities and scenic views along the Ohio River throughout the weekend.
“Events like Italianfest help create a vibrant atmosphere in Newport while generating economic activity for our local businesses, restaurants and attractions,” said City Manager John Hayden. “We are proud to welcome residents and visitors alike to celebrate this longstanding community tradition.”
Italianfest was founded in 1991 and has grown into one of the largest cultural festivals in the region. The event continues to honor the contributions of Italian-American families while providing entertainment and activities for all ages.
