Covington Catholic baseball coach Bill Krumpelbeck picked up the 900th win of his career Tuesday when the Colonels defeated Turpin, 10-5, in a game at Turpin.
Krumpelbeck has a 900-386 record in 39 years as CovCath’s head coach. He is fifth on the career victories list for high school baseball coaches in Kentucky.

The leader is Bill Miller of Pleasure Ridge Park with a 1,043-276 record.
CovCath is off to a 3-0 start this spring. The Colonels have won 20 or more games for 28 consecutive seasons under Krumpelbeck. His 2002 state championship team posted 40 wins, one shy of the state record for wins in a season.
