Tri-Ed seeking to fill full-time ‘economic development specialist’ position


Northern Kentucky Tri-ED, a regional economic development entity enjoying its 27th year, is seeking a confident, enthusiastic, consummate professional for a full-time “Economic Development Specialist” position.

With a $2M annual budget, an engaged Board of Directors and an 11-person staff, Northern Kentucky Tri-ED leads economic development efforts for the 380,000+ population region comprised of Boone, Campbell and Kenton counties as part of the Cincinnati metro region. The compensation range for this position is between $32,000 to $42,000 commensurate with experience, training and education as a base salary annually including health, dental, vision, 401(k), and other benefits for a typical workweek (Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

Overall Responsibilities

This teamwork-oriented person will work with the Senior Vice President of Business Development to support projects including, but not limited to:

Continually enhance and update Tri-ED’s industrial and office sites and buildings website database & resource materials for clients and staff including customized responses utilizing various mapping tools including GIS, all in coordination with the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development and work with Realtors, utility companies, etc.

Assist project managers as needed with new and/or expanding projects, RFP’s, etc.
Coordinate with staff public events such as press conferences, groundbreakings, etc.
Serve as Tri-ED’s primary contact with our external information technology vendor
Create PowerPoints for meetings and presentations
Create quarterly real estate reports for staff


Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Bachelor’s Degree in real estate, business, urban planning or public administration, or related field: and
Consistent, dedicated experience (1-3 years) in as many of the following areas as possible: real estate, development, business, economic development, community planning, finance, and/or public relations.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

He/she must be an organizer capable of functioning effectively in an independent environment and must possess excellent organizational skills.
Must be upbeat, self-starting, proactive and energetic and possess the ability to prioritize tasks and assignments.
Positive team player ready and willing to help with any and all tasks with skill in maintaining effective working relations with co-workers, allies, property owners, brokers and consultants.
Ability to communicate effectively with clients, property owners, and the general public.
Must be proficient with appropriate word processing, spreadsheets, data-base and presentation software, primarily Microsoft Office and additional experience with Salesforce preferred.
Ability to deal effectively with deadlines.
