The NKY chapter of Kentucky Public Retirees will hold its monthly meeting on Monday, January 11 to discuss a statewide rally in Frankfort to call attention to the state pension crisis.
The meeting will be held at the Golden Coral at 488 Orphanage Rd. in Ft. Wright starting at 11:30.
The Kentucky Public Retirees rally in Capital Rotunda in Frankfort will be Wednesday January 27, starting at 1:00 p.m.
Members and families are encouraged to attend.
NKY Chapter President Asom Ponananta will be tasking for names of those who plan to attend. The NKY Chapter is providing transportation to and from rally.
Anyone who is retired from CERS, KERS, and STATE POLICE and their spouses are eligible to join the organization. Membership is free from month of joining to end of the current year.
The chapter is urging as many as possible to attend rally and monthly meetings and to join in the effort to urge legislators to fix the underfunded pension system.
