The American Legion Riders will hold the seventh Annual Teddy Bear Ride on Saturday, from noon to 2 p.m. to benefit children who visit the St. Elizabeth Florence Emergency Department.
The ride begins at the American Legion Post 4 at 8385 U.S. Highway 42 in Florence and continues to St. Elizabeth Florence. All participating riders are encouraged to donate a bear.
The director of the Florence American Legion Riders, started the ride seven years ago to “help put a smile on a child’s face when experiencing a visit to the hospital or emergency room.”
According to event organizers, the Post has already exceeded its goal and collected more than 3,000 bears and other stuffed animals. Kickstands are up at 12 noon and riders are expected to reach St. Elizabeth Florence at approximately 1:45 p.m.
Anyone interested in experiencing the excitement and thrill of approximately 150 Harley Davidsons roaring up to the main entrance are welcome to attend. Children are welcome and will receive a special gift from the riders.
