In front of a crowd of 5,332 fans — including hundreds of local schoolchildren — during the first Victor’s Hoops 4 Health Day, Northern Kentucky women’s basketball took on an old rival in former Atlantic Sun Conference opponent Stetson.

The Hatters used an efficient second half, shooting over 50.0 percent, to seal a 54-45 victory.  With the loss, NKU drops to 2-4 on the season, while Stetson advances to 7-1.

“We continue to talk about our offense. When you hold a team that averages 74 points a game to 54 points, our defensive intensity and effort is pretty good, even though I’m on them constantly that it isn’t good enough,” said head coach Camryn Whitaker. “I do credit and praise our team; we’re holding teams to pretty low point totals. We’ve got to find a better way offensively to get some better shot selection.”
