Winterfair, a juried fair of fine art and fine craft by over 250 artists from across the country, welcomes shoppers to the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington, Friday, Nov. 25 through Sunday, Nov. 27.
The convention center is just over the Roebling Suspension Bridge from Cincinnati, an easy drive from both sides of the river.
Featuring ceramics, glass, wearable art, jewelry, sculpture, painting and photography, Winterfair is an artists’ market where discerning shoppers will find everything from a beautiful glass vase for their home to the perfect mug for their morning coffee. Items range in price from as little as $15 to several thousand dollars.
“Winterfair is a fun, festive start to the holiday season, with unique gifts handcrafted by artists from across the country,” commented Betty Talbott, executive director of Ohio Designer Craftsmen, the organizers of the fair.
Among the exhibitors are a number of returning favorites, along with many new artists. Michigan artist Joseph Cyberski returns with his beautiful, 14K gold and gemstone jewelry. Newcomer Matt Estrada, Tennessee, makes fun, funky (but functional) wood birdhouses.
A special section of booths will feature artists from Kentucky Crafted. A Marketplace section on the second floor will offer gourmet treats for purchase, such as handmade soaps, body mists and bath bombs by Cashmere Bath; beef jerky, beef sticks and Kizito Cookies by J & W Foods; and caramel corn, brittle, toffee and even chocolate-covered bacon by Cappy’s Caramel Corn.

Photographer Ed Lawrence will be on hand Friday, November 25, 10 a.m.–5 p.m., to sell and autograph his book, Kentucky 120, a collection of landscape photographs of the state’s 120 counties. From noon to 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 27, costumed characters from Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park’s A Christmas Carol, the stepsisters from Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati’s Cinderella: After Ever After, and Buddy the Elf from the Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati’s Elf the Musical Jr., will entertain visitors.
Additional information is available at www.winterfair.org. Proceeds from Winterfair support exhibitions and education programs of the Ohio Craft Museum.
Winterfair is produced by Ohio Designer Craftsmen, which receives ongoing funding from the Greater Columbus Arts Council, Ohio Arts Council and the Columbus Foundation. Membership is open to both artists and craft enthusiasts.
