When school is out, Museum Camps are in. Cincinnati Museum Center (CMC) Spring Break and Summer Camps go on sale February 1.
With kids home from school and cries of “I’m bored” on the horizon, CMC is here to help you harness that energy into creative, interactive camp experiences that will sharpen your children’s knowledge of science, technology, history and the arts. Museum Camps are the perfect way to keep your kids busy, engaged and learning all break long. So grab your calendar and start planning the perfect adventure for your little explorers.
From muggles to Jedis, master builders to mad scientists, there’s a camp for every kid. Let your imagination run wild and put your engineering skills to the test in LEGO: Engineering Camp or create your own stop-motion animation movie using minifigs and LEGO bricks in LEGO: Move Magic Camp.
Put on a pair of goggles and get your hands dirty as you dive into icky, sticky experiments and find out which chemicals react to cause flashes and bangs at Crazy Chemistry Camp.
Get your invitation to Hogwarts, hop on our broomstick and fly to CMC to learn how to defend yourself against the Dark Arts and participate in the TriWizard Tournament at Harry Potter Camp. Blast off to Mars and work alongside your fellow space campers to build a habitat to survive on the Red Planet in Mission to Mars Camp.
But first you’ll need to learn about the science behind rockets, rovers and more by designing your own bottle rocket and taking a field trip to the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force at Rocket Science Camp.
Hit the midway, build your own rollercoaster and create bumper cars before experiencing the science of amusement parks firsthand at Amusement Park Jr. Camp. At Medical Camp you can learn basic first aid skills, participate in dissections, meet professionals from the medical field and discover what it takes to be a doctor. Put down the stethoscope and pick up a light saber at Star Wars Camp where you’ll undergo extensive Jedi training and work together to destroy the Empire’s battle station.
Whatever your situation, whatever your interests, Cincinnati Museum Center has a camp for you.
Whether you’re a working parent looking for an alternative to daycare for your future scientist or a parent who wants their amateur historian to spend the summer learning something new, there’s a Museum Camp for that. This year’s camps are available for kids as young as kindergarten and extend through 8th grade.
Each camp begins at 9 a.m. and runs through 4 p.m., with before and after care available from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
