4C for Children is celebrating 25 years of supporting and providing early childhood education resources to Northern Kentucky families at a special event on May 10 at Braxton Brewery in Covington.
The casual, social gathering will include light bites and drinks will take place from 4-6 p.m. and will include short presentations from community members impacted by 4C services as well as interactive learning stations to showcase 4C’s programming.
“Over the past 25 years 4C has partnered with Northern Kentucky child care providers, families, kinship care and the school systems to ensure every child gets the best start in life,” says Vanessa Freytag, CEO/president of 4C for Children. “It is exciting to see how the communities throughout Northern Kentucky have lifted up the importance of early childhood education over the years.”
4C for Children’s staff of early childhood experts work to support the adults who care for young children with the goal of ensuring high-quality early education and care for all children.
In Northern Kentucky, this means providing free referrals to families searching for quality child care and facilitating community outreach programs like Parent Cafés, which offer education and support to parents, and Play & Learn programs. In addition, 4C actively collaborates with local and state agencies on programs that promote kindergarten readiness and support the professional development of early childhood providers in the community.
Proceeds from the May 10 anniversary event will help launch a new 4C Spanish-language Play & Learn group for Northern Kentucky. The Play & Learn groups, currently hosted in five Northern Kentucky communities, are free opportunities for children birth to age 5 to learn and explore through play and also provide families and caregivers with knowledge and skills to help prepare children for school.
“4C continues responding to the changing needs of parents and families and that’s why we are so delighted to add a Spanish-language Play & Learn to our many community-based programs,” Freytag says. “We look forward to many more years of serving children and families in the region.”
