Ricky Ramirez drove in five runs Sunday night to lead the Florence Freedom to a 13-2 win over the Normal CornBelters at The Corn Crib.
Caleb Lopes, Andre Mercurio and Skylar Ewing each finished with two RBI for Florence, which built an early 10-0 lead and cruised to the victory. The Freedom plated seven runs during the second inning.
Holding a 10-2 lead in the eighth inning, Ramirez launched a three-run homer. It was his second home run of the season.
Florence, which also posted a 9-1 triumph over Normal on Friday night, won two of the three games in the weekend series.
On Saturday night, Normal pulled out a 2-1 victory over Florence. The CornBelters plated the go-ahead run in the bottom of the seventh inning, and closer Anthony Herrera pitched a perfect ninth to notch the save.
The Freedom play host to the Washington Wild Things at 6:35 p.m. Tuesday at UC Health Stadium.
